Some useful counselling books and brief reviews.

Codependent no more
Melody Beattie

This is a very interesting read from a counselling perspective, looking at our patterns of behaviour that may have outgrown their usefulness. Sometimes the things we do to protect ourselves can turn on us and hurt us. Looking specifically at codependency there is a great tendency to obsess about another person’s behaviour, moving from one crisis to another with no time to look at one’s own problems or needs. There can be a strong connection here between addiction and codependency in a relationship.
