Contribution Training offers us the ability to turn that which is negative into something positive. The open sharing of hurt can contribute to the other person who can then contribute back to us because they enable us to achieve the ‘Feelings of Accomplishment’ and purpose that we get from making the contribution.

Feelings of Accomplishment give us a sense of achievement or satisfaction, a sense of pride. We can get this in small ways and build on the sense that something is being accomplished, reinforcing a sense of wellbeing. When working on Feelings of Accomplishment with a client we focus on strength, finding out from a clients life about a glimmer of a feeling of accomplishment, a hobby, family, work – something that gives pride.

Purpose is powerful and the area in which we can best develop. It can determine the flow of our Feelings of Accomplishment. There are three types of Purpose in CT, Superficial Underlying and Sustaining purpose. We generally have one or two types of Sustaining Purpose in our lives. Superficial purpose is the focus within a game of tennis for example. We normally have several types of Underlying Purpose, our home, family, marriage, our career.
